Walt Horan

Walter Franklin Horan (1898–1966), American politician, was a Republican member of the United States House of Representatives for ten terms from January 3, 1943 to January 3, 1965, representing the Fifth Congressional District of Washington.

Born in Wenatchee, Washington, he earned an A.B. from Washington State University, Pullman in 1925 and a law degree from Whitworth College, Spokane.

Congressional career

Horan was elected to the House in 1942. In Congress, he acted as chairman of the House District of Columbia Committee, and sat on the Agriculture, Legislative, State, Commerce, Justice, and Judiciary Sub-Committees of the House Appropriations Committee.
